Metal-based monolith honeycomb substrate offers many advantages in comparison with a ceramic one, such as shorter light off time, less risk of overheating, less back pressure, larger effective area, greater catalytic capacity, smaller and more flexible design, etc. Catalyst is a device used to reduce the toxicity of emissions from an internal combustion engine, reduction of nitrogen oxides to nitrogen and oxygen, oxidation of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and oxidation of un-burnt hydrocarbons (HC) to carbon dioxide and water.
The catalytic converter is coated with rare earth element and noble metals of Pt, Pd, Rh. When the engine exhaust passing through the three-way catalytic converter the elements of CO would be oxidized into CO2, the HC is turned into H2O and CO2, while the NOX is deoxidized into nitrogen. The catalytic converter substrate is made of metal honeycomb with stainless steel crust and Fe-Cr-Al honeycomb body; It is a critical part of motorcycles and off-road engines to make the exhaust emission meet government standard.
Advantages: Bore wall is thin, the high specific surface area, high strength, low thermal expansion coefficient, good thermal shock resistance and thermal shock resistance, have a good match to the active ingredient and various catalyst
Applications:
*Round & Ovel metallic substrate for On-road vehicle
*Metallic substrate for small engine
*Metallic substrate for Off-road vehicle
*Metallic substrate for industrial catalyst
