Alumina Ceramic Foam Filter
Alumina Ceramic Foam Filters are mainly for filtration of aluminum and aluminum alloys in foundries and cast houses. With their excellent resistance to attack and corrosion from molten aluminum, they can effectively remove inclusions, reduce trapped gas and provide laminar flow, and then the filtered metal is significantly cleaner. Cleaner metal results in higher-quality castings, less scrap, and fewer inclusion defects, all of which contribute to bottom-line profit.
Alumina ceramic foam filters are manufactured in standardised and special sizes in basic thickness of 15 and 22mm and in sizes from 30x30 mm up to 250x250mm. They can be of square, round or rectangular shape. Non-standard shapes can be manufactured in compliance with client's technical setting and there is a really wide range of possibilities.
Metallurgical alumina ceramic foam filters are manufactured for use in smelting works for primary and secondary processing of aluminum and its alloys. The range of standard sizes includes 7, 9, 12, 15, 17, 20 and 23 inches. Ceramic foam filters are manufactured in the shape of square plates with bevelled sides of 17° . With the purpose of exact placement and good sealing in the filtration box, the boxes are equipped with sealing gasket consisting of a fibre mat of various thickness or with expandable gasket.
Size available:
7", 9", 12", 15", 17", 20", and 23", with porosities from PPI 10 to PPI 60(PPI ie pores per inch).
Other special sizes could be produced as requests.
